This month I finished my first dark vampire story. Vampire of the lost Highway, and I am excited about it. It was my first entire issue done for internal pages. Don Smith and I worked on it this year, and made excellent progress once I was able to concentrate on it. I learned a lot.

Lets get into that part a bit. What did I learn…

Well I learned that good writers work with the artist when a camera angle doesn’t work, and that working with Don was nothing like some of my past collaborations. I am lucky to know the guy. I also got to remember what finishing feels like. Right now though I love Damage Inc, there have been ups and downs. Evil Moose has changed directions and I can be a part of it if I choose to, but I am unsure if that is where I want to go. Anthologies are only good for so long. I want to tell something bigger than 10 pages. More importantly I know I am ready to try to. Next up at the moment is a ghost story form James Schumacher, the writer has a most firm opinion on showing of the work so there will be no looksies into it early, but I am so far very happy with the way the pages are coming out. This will be a ten page precursor for a possible Graphic when a publisher picks it up. Honestly I am not so sure what to do if that happens. I am excited and scared to death to be responsible for something that big. Mostly though I am so hungry to try. My 8 year old self is living his dream when these pages get printed. It’s elating to be motivated.
